Finance Administrator (Maternity Cover)

Manifesto Development Officer

Longford Women’s Link (LWL) is an organisation based in Longford Town which focuses on identifying and addressing key inequalities that prevent women in Longford achieving their full social and economic potential. LWL now wishes to recruit for the following positions.

Finance Administrator – Maternity Cover – Part Time 21 hours per week

Working with the Finance Officer and reporting to the CEO, the Finance Administrator will be responsible for the day to day administration of the Organisation’s finances.

The position will be full time for the months of May & June and then 21 hours (3 days) per week from June to December inclusive. The salary for this position is €14 per hour for the 35 and 21 hour week. This is a part time, fixed term, fixed purpose contract which will cease at the end of the stated contract period. The successful candidate will be required to go through the Garda Vetting process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An accounting or accounting technician qualification
  • At least 3 years experience working in a busy finance department
  • At least 3 years experience working with TAS accounts or a similar package
  • At least 3 years experience working with Thesaurus Payroll or a similar package
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of working with MS Office
  • Fluent English (written & verbal)

Specific tasks include:

  • Budgeting & Preparation of Management Accounts
  • Funder Returns
  • Book Keeping / TAS
  • Payroll/Thesaurus
  • Banking & Petty Cash
  • Expenses Management

The ideal candidate will be well organised with experience of working to deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential for this role.

The Finance Administrator will be required to travel within Longford town and must have their own transport and a full clean driving licence.

Manifesto Development Officer (part-time)

One of LWL’s objectives is to support women to engage with the local democratic structures in Longford. This objective is currently being addressed through the work of the Longford Women’s Manifesto Group which is involved in the promotion and replication of a model for the effective participation of women in decision making. By putting a dedicated resource in place, we have a unique opportunity to enhance the capacity of the Longford Women’s Manifesto Group and also to develop the project further by making the learning available to other women’s groups around the country. Therefore, LWL wish to recruit a dedicated Manifesto Development Officer to build on LWL’s work in developing the Longford Women’s Manifesto Group to date.

Manifesto Development Officer - Overall Objectives of Role

· Oversee administration/ rollout of project & associated publicity and promotion

· Support Manifesto members to engage with the local democratic structures in Longford

· Local and National networking and development

· Budget Management and preparation of Funder returns (supported by Management)

Relevant qualifications in community development and/or gender equality together with excellent IT, communication and organisational skills are required for this position. The successful candidate must have their own transport and a full clean driving licence.

Candidates will need to demonstrate proven skills and experience in:

  • Working directly with women in a community development setting.
  • Facilitating and developing groups from a community and equality perspective.
  • Networking and relationship-building, both at a local and national level, with community organisations, statutory agencies and other relevant bodies.
  • Publicity and project marketing.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the successful candidate will be expected to adopt a collaborative approach with other relevant LWL services in building on existing work and successes to date in relation to the Manifesto Group.

This role is part-time (2 days per week). The contract is of 2 years duration. Salary for this position is €12,000 per annum.
